190 likes! I never would have thought the page would this ma y likes, so humbling. Probably won't get 200 likes before the New Year, but that's ok.  We are still working on that final draft of the script. Hopefully we will have some new updates about the project in 2015! There's now a donation section of this blog if anyone would like to help out with the project.

The script to film is done still waiting on the final, final draft.  Also instead of one film there will be several short films.  That way we can better manage things. Once the final draft is done we will be doing voice auditions, so say tuned!

In one month

A month from now the script to the film should be finished! We might even be finished before then!  In the next following months we got something big planned.  So stay tuned!

Small update

Here's a small update. So far 33% of the script is finished. And so far there is an estimated 38 mins. This is 38 mins of dialogue and this does not include action and scene descriptions,etc. 

The final designs are being worked on and hopeful be reveal mid June. Things coming a long slow but good! I'm sensing something big with this project! 

The Look

From the very beginning of this project there was no doubt  what medium would be used: 2D.  There's something about 2D animation that I just love! Don't get me wrong I also love 3D animation as well! I'm just more familiar doing 2D artwork then 3D.

Hello and welcome to the development blog of Sonic Origins, an upcoming 2D animated Sonic fan film! Sonic Origins is an non-profit  fan film.

Right now the project is in a pre pre-production stage. The idea for the film started back in early summer 2013, and script development begun around late Oct, early Nov. 2013.

The idea behind this animated film is to explain how Sonic became the cool, confident, and speedy hedgehog we all know today! Story takes place before the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 1. And that’s pretty much all that we reveal about the plot.  Sonic and other Sonic characters and other properties  are copyrighted and own by Sega, Shy Art Studio is not affiliated with Sega.  This is a non-profit fan film.
